Can I be ordained by phone? No, a written request is required for ordainment. What information do I need to give you? Your full legal name is required, a current mailing address and a note stating something like " I would like to be an ordained minister." *Note: Documentation is required for "questionable names." A copy of a driver's license will work. If you are changing your last name because you are getting married, proof is not required. If you are legally changing your name or going through a divorce and using your maiden name again, we need to see some type of documentation explaining the change. What documents will I receive with my ordainment? New ministers, who are not in prison, will receive a ministers a certificate with their name and the date of ordainment on it. What can I do as an ordained minister? You will be able to perform any duties and ceremonies that an ordained minister of any other church or religion can perform.
